How is the character list ordered?
Our list is based on the official list of commonly used characters set by Taiwan's Ministry of Education (常用國字標準字體表). We cross-referenced it with a number of other frequency lists, usually produced by analysing popular texts and online chats, and took HSK levels into account. Our First 1000 covers every character used in HSK levels 1 to 4.
We then went through the whole thing by hand to catch mistakes and choose the right pinyin, zhuyin and keyword for each character. On the posters the list is ordered by frequency; the reference sheets also include an index in pinyin alphabetical order, so you can look a character up either way.
Do you still sell and ship physical posters?
No. Everything we sell is a digital download. Since the pandemic, shipping printed posters around the world has become prohibitively expensive. Going digital let us drop our prices, and you get your files immediately instead of waiting weeks. Print at home, or take the PDF to a copy shop for the big sizes.
Simplified or traditional?
Both. Every paid resource includes a simplified edition and a traditional edition, at no extra cost, so you don’t have to choose when you buy. The one exception is Essential Radicals, which is simplified only.
What do I actually get when I buy?
An email with a download link, usually within a minute. The files are individual PDFs, with no zip file to wrestle with, which matters if you’re downloading on a phone or tablet. They’re yours to keep and reprint as often as you like.
Is the free practice paper really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no email address, no watermark. Just click and download. It’s the most-used thing we make and we’d like to keep it that way.
What currency are your prices?
All prices are in US dollars.
Do you have a physical store?
No. We’re online only, and deliberately small.
